Details

The Basilica of Immaculada Conception, one of the oldest Catholic churches in Batangas, stands prominently across Plaza Mabini. Built between 1851 and 1857, it is a striking example of early Renaissance architecture, evident in both its exterior and interior design. On February 13, 1946, Pope Pius XII granted it the prestigious title of "Basilica Minor" of the Infant Jesus and Immaculada Conception. This recognition marked it as the first basilica in the Philippines and the entire Far East to receive such an honor. Today, it remains a significant landmark, admired for its rich history and architectural beauty.
